On Friday 19th June over 200 students from 15 different schools made the journey to Aldershot to represent Basingstoke in the 2015 Hampshire School Games.

Team’s from Oakley and Castle Hill took part in the Year 5/6 girls football. Hatch Warren, St Martin’s and Sherborne St John took part in the Year 5/6 tag rugby. Burghclere and St Mary’s took part in the Year 5/6 High 5 Netball. Rucstall and St John’s took part in the Year 3/4 Tri golf with North Waltham taking part in the Year 5/6 Tri Golf. North Waltham were also in the Year 5/6 hockey along with Kempshott. Dove House had three teams, and Tadley Court had a team in the Year 7-10 inclusive athletics.

Costello were in the Year 7/8 rounders with The Hurst taking part in the Year 9/10 rounders. St Mary’s also took part in both the Year 5/6 basketball and the Year 5/6 Quad Kids Athletics. Sherborne St John also took part in the Year 3/4 tennis.

We had a number of medal winners! The Hurst finished 3rd in the Year 9/10 rounders with St Mary’s also getting Bronze medals for finishing third in the Quad Kids Athletics. Dove House picked up Silver medals coming second in the inclusive athletics.

Pride of place must go to the Sherborne St John Year 3/4 tennis team (pictured below with their gold medals) who became our only County Champions by winning the event.
